Web sites for smart phones using JQueryMobile

I’ve recently created a version of the Web-Ideas web site for viewing on smart phones.

It uses the JQueryMobile framework which is an extension of JQuery and is an HTML5 – based interface for mobile devices.

All it does is show a home page, an About Us page and a Contact Us page. This is enough to allow important information to be displayed on the limited viewing area of a smart phone.   Full web sites can be viewed on modern phones but it can be difficult to find that all-important link to a phone number or contact email.

Initially I tried building my own HTML pages for display on mobile devices but realised I’d been wasting my time when I came across JQueryMobile.

The framework allows you to create layouts similar to those found on Iphone or Android apps. I’ve been so impressed with this that I’m using the technology to create a smartphone version of a Coach booking web site. I have the skills to build an Android app and I’m still learning Iphone development but haven’t a clue about Blackberry! So why build different apps when one web site can achieve the result in far less time?

If you are interested in creating your mobile friendly web site then let me know.
